We started our Cinco De Mayo bright and early for a couple portrait session at Red Wing Park in Virginia Beach with Josh and Katie.

Crystal and I could not have asked for better weather take their portraits (at least earlier that morning, it did however rain later that evening)!

The weather the last couple of weeks have been so unpredictable that we actually had rescheduled with Josh and Katie a couple of times already, but thank goodness it all worked out Saturday morning.

Despite the heavy rain and stormy weather the night before, the park turned out remarkably clean and crisp providing an amazing backdrop for Katie and Josh’s portraits.

Although there were quite a bit of damp and wet areas around the park, we were able to work around it and get some great shots starting at the Japanese Garden and around the natural trails right across from it.

The bright sun and clear skies provided great lighting and that it lit-up the leaves on the trees providing a brighta and colorful canopy that just brought the whole scene together.

Since Josh is the Navy based in Virginia Beach and Katie had just recently moved here, they finally got the opportunity to get their engagement portraits taken. They are actually going to have their wedding in a couple of weeks on North Carolina’s Outerbanks!

Yesterday on Cinco De Mayo, Crystal and I photographed soon to be mom and dad, Ben and Noelle for their outdoor maternity portraits in Virginia Beach.

Our shoot started out at a park nearby their home, where Ben and Noelle placed a textured blanket along the grass and Crystal and I captured their moments.

Ben and Noelle were very prepared for the shoot, from what they were going to wear, and even shared many ideas with us. This really made the shoot go well and was a key factor with us getting some amazing shots for them.

After a few shots at the park, the sky decided to let some rain pour down our way, so we hurried back to their home where we had a few ideas setup just in-case of inclement weather.

Once we got back at their place, they chagned their outfits and photographed them at different locations in their home.

They were so awesome to work with that we had great teamwork throughout the whole shoot! That really made us capture their moments and get these ‘killer’ shots (as both Ben and Noelle would put it =] ).

Despite the weather being overcast and even at times giving off some late evening showers, it didn’t at all hinder us from capturing these (from plenty more) amazing and beautiful images with Ben and Noelle!

We’ve rescheduled quite a bit with Sarah and Charlie for the last couple of months just because of the way the weather has been so unpredictable, we were all glad that were able to get finally get done in the morning.

Despite the rain over night, we were able to take advantage of the break in the weather very early that morning.

And although the skies were a bit cloudy, it helped provide good lighting for our shots.

Charlie plays rugby and we thought it would be fun if we incorporate it somehow for their session, they decided to hustle and jostle playing with the rugby ball and we just captured their every moment.

Despite the unpredictable weather over the past weekend, Sarah and Charlie were able to get their awesome engagement portrait photos taken, and Crystal and I had such a blast!

Just like the weather the past Saturday before, it was an absolutely beautiful day!

It was nice and cool, nothing but sunny skies with some overcast, and everything was turning out to be a perfect day!

We started off our wedding coverage at the The SpringHill Suites Mariott Hampton and The Hilton Garden Inn Hampton, where each of them were getting ready with their groomsmen and bridesmaids.

The team split off to cover both Lemar and Paola doing their final getting ready moments, then later rejoining to head out to the Langley Chapel back in the base.

After the ceremony Crystal and I focused on getting the bridal party, while our friend and third shooter Kevin raced to the Bayview Commonwealth Center club where the cocktail hour and reception were held.

We met with Parker and Lacey at a nearby beach access, and started the session photographing them while Parker had his uniform.

After photographing Parker and Lacey with their first set of outfits, we moved on to some more casual and fun shots.

We started to walk along the beach and the waterline while photographing Parker and Lacey candidly.

We wanted to give their photos a very natural and casual look, so we had them just enjoy each other while being at the beach.

We then managed to grab a few more of their portraits just right before the session was over.

Overall we had a great time photographing Parker and Lacey at the beach and got the shots at the end of the day.

They chose Downtown Norfolk because they had wanted to get a shot with the U.S.S. Wisconsin battleship as part of their backdrop.

While the sun was still pretty high in the sky, we photographed them along the Japanese garden at Pagoda Park.

We all then walked around the surrounding neighborhood for some fall-like look with all the leaves on the ground.

There were lots of great spots just right next to the Pagoda Park where the neighborhood had old brick-stone homes and cobble streets.

We then walked a few more blocks in and around the surrounding homes, and photographed them a few more for their portraits before heading back out to the U.S.S. Wisconsin.

Once we got back to the battleship, the sun was just beginning to set and gave us some great lighting to get some shots of Matthew and Maggie.

Melissa won our FREE Portraits contest on Facebook and had decided to do couple portraits during her college break with her boyfriend Lance.

Both chose Northwest River Park in Chesapeake because of the natural setting that produced beatiful fall colors during this time of the year.

We started out walking through trails and just went through the park together and stopped along key points where we photographed them.

The session began early in the morning where the sun was just at the right position where the light just started to penetrate through treeline and leaves.

Lance and Melissa were such a great couple to photograh which truly shows in the photos we took, they were very open to ideas and allowed us to work freely and get the right shots.
