Family & Newborn Portraits with The Quinns

A few months ago, we photographed the Quinn Family with their newborn baby girl Mikaela at their home for their portraits, where we had setup our portable studio equipment in their living room.

The Quinns had requested for us to photograph their family in various poses, but to mainly focus on baby Mikaela.

Photographing a newborn could be challenging at times, but the photos that are taken are well worth the time and patience.

Mikaela was well behaved and was very curious, while I took the photos, she kept looking through the lens to see her reflection on the glass.

We started out photographing her while she was asleep, and placed her in a basket with her blanket and got a few shots of those.

Then, when she woke up, we took a shot of her “sitting down” while her dad held her up while trying to stay out of the camera frame.

Afterward, we moved on to getting some more shots of Mikaela being just the little newborn she was, like the photo pictured above.

We then photographed her “Simba – Lion King” moment with her dad holding her up with both hands facing upwards towards the light.

While transitioning to photograph the next pose, we captured Mikaela with her dad having a “Face-Off” moment pictured above.

Just right before Mikaela began to get antsy and become tired, we photographed the Quinn family all together to finish off the session.
