Spring is fast approaching and with it comes great weather and more outdoor shoots. This past Saturday was the perfect day for an engagement session with Michelle and Charles. We were able to do the session at both the City Center at Newport News and later at the Mariner’s Museum park.
They were both open to our ideas and we all had a great time! We can’t wait until their August wedding!

On President’s Day we photographed newly designed t-shirts and merchandise by Taglish Tees. Filipino Fighting Arts Academy (FFAA, special thanks to Chief Instructor Brian ‘Spunk’ Trial) were kind enough to let us use their space during evening and we were able to successfully setup shop and photograph their new shirts and merchandise. Mike and Angelique from Taglish Tees gathered models to wear the new shirts for the shoot which included Jackie from our previous shoots, Maymar’s Brian Mayor, and even local dance crew YFAMD (Young Filipino American Modern Dancers of Virginia).
Gamboa Photos team member James Lewis provided behind the scenes video coverage for us to create a short video seen above. Make sure you click on the 720p setting on the youtube video to watch in HD! Hope you guys enjoy watching this behind the scenes clip, another version will be rolled out later on so keep coming to check our blog!
Here’s just a few of their new Filipino T-shirt designs and merchandise:
On Thursday we were commissioned by Priority Title & Escrow to do our Photo Booth Service at Waterman’s Surfside Grille at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. They were hosting a Christmas party so we created a custom holiday border with their company logo.
On November 7, 2009 we covered Ashley and Justin’s wedding held at The First Lady Victorian home in Suffolk, VA. Below is our photo slideshow teaser of their wedding.
We normally do a lot of weddings in Virginia Beach, however we do also travel around the Hampton Roads for weddings as well as other portrait photography services.
If you are interested in booking a wedding and setting up an appointment for a consultation, please feel free to contact us at anytime!
“I was very happy to find Mark and Crystal and they were truly the perfect photographers for my family portrait. I have two little ones and one is just a baby. My older one is camera shy so you can imagine how hard it can be to get a good family portrait. On top of that, I had all this image and I was very specific about what kind of pictures I wanted. Although we had never met Mark and Crystal in person until the photo shoot, I found them very friendly and easy to work with, and they never “pressured” us to do anything- they were very patient with the kids as well and they really made us comfortable. Prior to the photo shoot, we exchanged numerous e-mails discussing what kind of family photos I was looking for and locations, and all that, and they were very understanding and willing to work with me, and they were also very helpful.
And oh boy, after I saw the retouched photos… they were just so perfect! They did an excellent job and my family truly appreciate their work. I already recommended them to several friends!”
On September 5th, 2009 we had the honor of photographing Joe and Alexis’ outdoor wedding held outdoors in South Courtyard and reception in The Huntington Room of the Mariners Museum in Newport News. We are pleased to share below their short version of their wedding slideshow!
After Joe and Alexis viewed the extended version of the slideshow, they wrote us back an email and here’s a snippet of their feedback:
“Once again you two have outdone yourselves! We absolutely love every, single picture that you took! They are simply breathtaking. You captured the day soooo beautifully. Joe and I were just sitting here looking at the (extended) slideshow, mouths open in amazement. We laughed, we cried, we reflected back on our day through your work. There was no need for a videographer. We re-lived every word and emotion just from those pictures. Thank you, thank you, thank you. It was obvious that you took your time and meticulously chose each picture. Thank you for our memories. They were well worth the wait.” – With love, ~ The Wyatts
We recently photographed Miho and her family at the Hermitage Museum and Gardens off of Shore Drive in Norfolk, VA.
We photographed them during noon within the surroundings of the Hermitage home were lush flower gardens and trails were easily accessible. The Hermitage provides a great backdrop with its lush well-kept gardens and greenery for any kind of photography.
We had a wonderful engagement session with Mark and Crystal. They made us feel very comfortable and it definitely shows in our pictures. Matt and I had many questions about posing, camera angles, different scenery, etc., but we were put at ease when Mark and Crystal gave us positive feedback. They are fun to work with and very professional.
We are thrilled with our engagement pictures and can’t wait for Mark and Crystal to capture the special moments at our wedding. Thank you both!
