In January we photographed teen country/rock singer Ashton Harrell. Initially we had planned for this to be an on-location session but because of the cold weather we decided to keep the session indoors.
Ashton wanted a grungy and urban feel to his photos so we photographed him on our solid gray paper background.

On Thursday we were commissioned by Priority Title & Escrow to do our Photo Booth Service at Waterman’s Surfside Grille at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. They were hosting a Christmas party so we created a custom holiday border with their company logo.
As a birthday present for their father, Jennifer & Juanito came to us to restore an old photograph they found of their dad when he was younger. The photograph was in very bad and fragile condition with multiple tears and discoloration.
“We had an outstanding experience from beginning to end. Mark & Crystal made everything easy, they were extremely flexible with scheduling and offered excellent suggestions for location and working with our 10 month old son. When the day of the shoot came they had tons of patience in working with our little boy and managed to get more than 200 pictures of a baby in a little more than an hour.
The photos themselves exceeded my expectations as they captured split second moments that I will cherish forever. I would highly recommend Gamboa Photos to anyone and I will definitely be using them again in the future!”
Sunday started off as a very busy morning for the Gamboa Photos team. Ejay, Mark, and I left Virginia Beach around 6 AM and drove to Richmond, VA for an engagement session with Janel and Mike.
Byrd Park was full of photo opportunities for the couple. Since neither Janel & Mike had visited Byrd Park before we let them both explore the park together while we took a few candid photos of them. After walking around the park Janel and Mike suggested that we head towards a big tower that they passed by on the way to the park.
Photo booths are a fun addition to any wedding or event. This weekend we were able to set up our photo booth during the reception of Amy & Joe’s wedding at First Landing State Park. There were over 300 guests in attendance at the wedding and as soon as our photo booth opened there was a flood of guests in line.
While Mark was photographing the reception events, our assistant, Ejay, photographed guests at the photo booth using our studio lighting. James was in charge of editing the photos and printing the film strips out while I would manage the pickup area and occasionally help Mark photograph the reception.
