In January we photographed teen country/rock singer Ashton Harrell. Initially we had planned for this to be an on-location session but because of the cold weather we decided to keep the session indoors.

Ashton wanted a grungy and urban feel to his photos so we photographed him on our solid gray paper background.

Tonight we shot with the alternative band City Voices comprised of Suzzane Smith (vocals), John “Stubs” Davis (electric guitar), TJ Mckinney (bass guitar/backing vocals), and Jarrett Stanley (drums).

City Voices was formed in the summer of 2008 by good friends John, TJ, and Jarrett while Suzzane joined the band as their lead vocal singer in December.

Our 2009 started off with our first photoshoot of the year with the alternative band Days Difference – a Universal Motown Records signed group managed by Jay Michaels the Program Director/Operations Manager for 96X radio station.

Jay wanted our team to focus on the band’s looks and style and more importantly Day’s Difference group headshots in various looks and formation. During the photoshoot session, we spent a lot of time styling each of the band members and shot them on each look to see which outfit worked and didn’t worked.

This gave us the freedom to really nit pick each look and get the shot that we wanted. Virginia Beach Makeup & Hairstylist Allison Stout worked on each individual band members and gave them each of their do’s. She did an incredible job styling their hair and also makeup – as well as covering some behind the scenes shots.

We gave them our full ’star-treatment’ during their shoot and made them real comfortable all the way till the end. We all had a great time working together especially the band members – Micah (bass), Jonathan (drums), Jeremy (vocals & piano), and Jeremiah (guitar) and their manager Jay.

We thoroughly enjoyed working at Gamboa. The experience was the best we have ever received at a shoot. They are truly professional. It was an awesome time. Mark and Crystal had no problem working with us to get the shots we wanted. Make up was a cinch and the lighting was amazing. Turn around for the photos was also very quick! We were blown away at the quality of work and how quickly we were able to get the photos. Gamboa deserves 5 stars and we would recommend them to anyone.
