About Us
The number one question we are asked when we meet with a client for the first time is “How do you pronounce Gamboa?” In our two years in business we have heard it all: Gam-bow, Gam-boo-uh, Gum-bow, Gum-wah. Once in a while a client gets it right: Gam-bow-uh. Any way you decide to pronounce it is fine with us or you can simply refer to us as Mark and Crystal.
We are both very simple people. We don’t like to over-complicate, and everything from our work, our website, to our pricing shows that.
We love lifestyle portraiture and capturing uninterrupted candid moments. While our candid style may not suit everyone, we believe that capturing unaltered moments is the key to a truly emotionally-charged photograph-- like life, our photo sessions are unscripted.
Our first photo shoot was an intimate elopement at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. This simple wedding marked the beginning of our photography. We branched into model portfolio development and worked with local makeup artists to bring to life more creative concepts.
We have been fortunate to have worked with many clients in Hampton Roads and even clients that heard of us from out of state. We have been published in PopStar! Magazine, Girls’ Life Magazine, Seventeen.com, as well as Skanska: Coast To Coast.
